Smartr is your guide through 11+ preparation — generating fresh, exam-format-correct practice papers targeted at your child's weak areas, tracking every word they've learned, and telling you precisely what to focus on next.
The 11+ reality
It's not a school exam. It's a competitive selection test with formats that vary by school and region — the paper your child sits for Sutton Grammar is structured entirely differently to a GL Assessment school. Most preparation tools weren't built for this specificity.
“We'd been through three Bond books and she was starting to recognise the questions. I needed something that kept generating genuinely new material — not the same vocabulary dressed up differently.”
Parent of a Year 5 pupil, Sutton Grammar catchment“Our tutor is brilliant but the hour a week isn't enough on its own. I wanted something that carried the tutor's direction forward through the week, not just generic extra practice.”

Smartr works through a natural conversation. You say what you need — Smartr handles the rest.
Type in plain English — or paste your tutor's notes directly. Smartr reads them and updates your child's profile automatically.
Smartr generates a brand-new paper in the exact format of your child's target school. SET, GL, CEM, ISEB or CSSE. Fresh questions. Fresh vocabulary. Every time.
Mark the paper, review results, and ask Smartr what to focus on. It builds a study plan, identifies weak topics, and suggests the next paper — so you're never guessing.
What makes Smartr different
Most platforms give your child more questions. Smartr gives you both — the questions and the guidance to know which ones matter.
Smartr analyses every paper your child sits — where they struggled, what improved, what hasn't been covered yet. It then tells you exactly what to do next: which topics to focus on, when to run a mock test, when to ease off. You always know where you stand.
After each paper: weak topics updated, next focus suggested
Weekly: progress summary, study plan adjusted
Before the exam: full revision block, mock test schedule
With your tutor: paste in their notes — Smartr picks up where they left off
Smartr tracks every spelling word and vocabulary item your child has encountered across all their papers. New English papers only ever introduce words they haven't seen before.
Strikethrough = already seen · Gold = new this paper
SET papers have five options and allow multiple correct answers. GL papers have four options with one correct answer. CEM, ISEB and CSSE each have their own structure. Smartr knows every format and generates papers that look and feel like the real thing.
Why it matters
Traditional 11+ platforms serve questions from a fixed library. When that library runs dry — or your child starts pattern-matching — the preparation stalls.
Every paper is created specifically for your child, at that point in their preparation — never recycled from a shared library.
As results come in, Smartr refines the weak-topic profile and makes future papers sharper. The more you use it, the more targeted it becomes.
Paste in your tutor's notes after each session and Smartr updates accordingly — so your paid tutoring time is reinforced through the week.
What to expect
Here's what the preparation journey looks like from day one — concrete, measurable, always guided.
Tell Smartr your child's name, target school, and exam format. Run the first evaluation paper to get a baseline across maths and English.
Smartr generates papers focused on the identified weak areas. Each paper introduces fresh vocabulary. Results feed back into the profile after every session.
With enough data to work from, Smartr builds a rolling study plan — weekly topics, daily tasks, and a revision block timed to the exam date.
The profile sharpens with every paper. Smartr adjusts the plan as your child improves — always pointing you to what matters most next.
We're opening Smartr to a small group of families before public launch. Founding families get free access for their full preparation period.
